How to search, filter, and read resources on the Gender & Chemicals Knowledge Base.

Getting to the content

1. Go directly to the Knowledge Base.

2. You can also access filtered subsets of the Knowledge Base directly from the top navigation: Research & Data, Tools & Training, and Policy & Implementation each open the Knowledge Base pre-filtered to that content type.

3. You can also access pre-filtered Topics from the top navigation: Introduction, Environment, Health, Household & Consumer Safety, Labour and Women in Chemistry.

Filter & Resources

The Knowledge Base page has two areas:

Filter & Search Panel – a search bar at the top, followed by several collapsible filter categories. Click any category name to expand it and see its options.

Resources — all matching resources shown as cards. Each card shows the content type, title, a short description, and a Details link.

Using the search bar

Type a keyword into the search bar — for example pesticides, pregnancy, or mercury.

The results update as you type. You can combine the search bar with filters at the same time to narrow results further.

Using the filters

Below the search bar you’ll find filter categories.
Click a category name to open it, then select one or more options..
You will find the following categories to filter the resources:

Tip: You can select multiple options within a category.

To remove a filter, click the Reset link next to that category name or above the filter list.

Filters and search work together — you can combine them freely.

Reading a Resource

Click Details on any card to open the full resource entry.
Here is what you will find:

1. The top section shows the title and the Authors of the Resource.

2. After that you’ll find an abstract — a summary of what the resource is about.

3. Next to the abstract you’ll see all filter tags, that specific resource applies to: e.g. year, format, gender focus, country, sector, chemicals involved, and more.
Clicking any tag takes you to an prefiltered archive of other resources with the same tag.

4. The View Original button links to the full document or external source (journal, publisher, or organization website).
